The Tsuki Kennel currently has four resident dogs: our three Skye's and Day the West Highland White. Add to this our cat, snake and an African Pigmy Hedgehog and it all adds up to a very noisy home indeed! Here is an introduction to the Tsuki residents and their goals in life.

Jeraro S'Wonderful of Tsuki - Luna
Luna is now four years old and enjoys running riot with her puppies! She has always been a character and enjoys her obedience training more than we ever thoughts possible. Luna was shown in breed classes when she was younger but suffered some major setbacks. She has taken a break from showing to concentrate on obedience and to have her pups but is now making a tentative return to the ring. She has been doing well at Ring Craft and acheived 3rd place on her re-debut at the Richmond Championship Show, qualifying her for Crufts 2008!
At home Luna likes walks, paddling in the river (she doesn't swim!), playing tug and chase with the pups and food time. Due to her excitable personality Luna is kept on a diet of Burns complete food which contains no additives or preservatives. We have found that this diet helps to keep Luna calmer in stressful situations. |
Yorkshire's Pride - Day
Day is our oldest dog, turning eight this year. He is a true gentleman who takes everything in his stride ...except when the postman comes! He is fond of the puppies although he will never admit it and can even be found playing with them from time to time. Day has never been shown in breed classes and until recently we were convinced that he 'wasn't a very good Westie' but he has done well with obedience despite never attending a single class!
At home Day likes relaxing away from the puppies, getting fuss from anyone willing to give him some (which he will reward with kisses), walks, the river and he adores food time - spinning round and round on the spot until you put his bowl down! When out for walks Day keeps himself out of trouble and can often be found keeping Luna out of trouble by putting himself between her and any big dogs. Day is also kept on a diet of Burns complete as he has very sensitive skin which is controlled well by this diet. |

Tsuki Freedom Star - Free
Young Free is our rising star ...hopefully! He was the second largest pup of his litter and the largest and creamiest cream. He is a true puppy, loves getting himself into trouble by barking, digging, chasing and trying to assert his authority over his mum (which he never manages to do). Free currently attends ring-craft and is doing very well. He enjoys training just so long as there is enough treats for him to nibble his way through. He is quiet, confident and loving - a true rascal!
When he isn't causing trouble Free loves to play tug, go for walks, chase birds on the park, snuggle up to his mum to have a nap and playing with Day when he is allowed. He also likes new experiences and often spends so much time trying to work out what is going on that he forgets to eat his treats! |
Tsuki Daylight Star - Twiddle
Twiddle is the younger of our two boys and was always labeled 'the middle child' as he never seemed to get noticed in the litter environment! That wasn't to say he didn't make his presence felt though; Twiddle was always the noisy one!. He is a little shyer than Free but puts on a good show of being terrified by everything. It takes a lot to convince people that he is just putting it on because he'd really rather be at home sunning himself than working for his supper.
Once Twiddle manages to close his mouth for long enough he loves to run on the fields with his mum - even if she does tire him out very quickly, is quite fond of the paddling pool and the river, has accidentally found a love of the agility 'A' frame and follows Freedom about like a shadow! |

Miss Kizzy Supreme Ruler of the Dogs
The dogs squabble amongst themselves for the pecking order in the house but there is one thing that none of them ever do: try and unseat the cat! Kizzy has lived through puppy-Day, puppy-Luna and now the double sided challenge of Puppies-Free-and-Twiddle and has managed to whip all of them into shape. She tends to keep out of the way most of the time but she makes an appearance at food time and can often be found snoozing in the sunshine and isn't adverse to putting those dogs in their places should they try it on.
Like most cats, Miss Kizzy just loves to sleep and can be found doing it anywhere, including in the dogs' beds! When they try and get in with her she defends her newfound bed well until one of us humans comes along and removes her. She also likes fish and cuddles but only if she asks for them! |
