CH Tsuki Solastar of Brakemill - Misty
A huge cheer goes out to Misty who became the first Tsuki Champion (subject to KC confirmation) on Saturday 27th September at the Skye Terrier Club Championship Show, winning her third ticket and taking Best In Show!
Words cannot express the emotion at the Tsuki camp when we received the call from Misty's mum Jane. Unfortunately, we weren't able to be at the show but just knowing that Misty got her third and qualifying ticket means the world to us all.
A big thanks goes out to Jane and her family for handling Misty to her championship and loving the little scamp and to the breeders of her parents, Luna and Clyde (Jenny Kendrick & Gail Marshall) for allowing the Tsuki pups to be. We couldn't be happier!
Tsuki Solastar of Brakemill - Misty
A big well done goes to Misty (Tsuki Solastar of Brakemill) on winning her second CC under judge Mrs M A Micklethwaite at the Birmingham National Dog Show this May! This brings her tally of achievements to a lofty four: two CCs and two reserve CCs not to mention the numerous class wins at open and championship shows.
Misty won her first CC at the Skye Terrier Club Championship Show in Sept 2007 under judge Vic Thomas which only leaves one more CC under a different judge to give her the title of Champion. At just over two years of age this is an incredible achievement and needless to say there will be baited breath at the Tsuki camp as Misty chases her championship CC over the coming months.
This achievement is a testament not only to the litter parents, Jeraro S'Wonderful of Tsuki (Luna) and CH Glorfindel Freedom Fighter Shcm (Clyde) and the wonderful puppies they produced but to Misty's family for letting the little minx shine. We very nearly kept her to ourselves but we couldn't be happier with the home she has and the things she has acheived. We couldn't be prouder of our singular girl-pup!
Jeraro S'Wonderful of Tsuki - Luna
The National Terrier Championship show proved another good day out for the Tsuki dogs: Tsuki Outlaw Star took reserve in the Post Graduate Dog class, Tsuki Solastar of Brakemill took 1st in the Limit Bitch class and the Reserve Bitch CC and Jeraro S'Wonderful of Tsuki took 1st place in the Novice Bitch class! This was a particularly important feat for Luna as her performance has really improved recently and she is coping extremely well with being in the show environment. Needless to say we were very proud of all their performances.
Skye Terrier Club Championship Show 2007
The Skye Terrier Club Open Show 2007 held on 29th September proved a good day out for the Tsuki dogs. Freedom won his class (Graduate Dog), Luna came third and made a very good improvement on her performance (and her handler's performance) and Tsuki Solastar of Brakemill won the Graduate Bitch class and went on to take the bitch CC (her first ticket), Reserve Best In Show and Best Opposite Sex. At eighteen months this is quite an acheivement and we are extremely proud (and a little tearful) of our only little girl.
Tsuki Daylight Star also accompanied us to the show and while he was not showing behaved impeccably and gave us some very good publicity.
Jeraro S'Wonderful of Tsuki - Luna
After being scared very badly as a youngster Luna has recently made a tentative return to the show ring. Her debut was at the Richmond Champ Show where she acheived a third place in the Skye Terrier Post-Graduate Bitch class qualifying her for Crufts 2008!
From a dog who two years ago couldn't cope with being anywhere near a show this is a great acheivement. A huge well done goes to Luna and Josie, her handler (who is also learning how to show for the first time) and the trainers who have worked with Luna both in terms of rehabilitation and ring craft training. Luna's next show will be the Skye Club Champsionship Show on 29th September.
Luna joins three of her children in being qualified for Crufts 2008: Tsuki Freedom Star, Tsuki Outlaw Star and Tsuki Solastar will also be in attendance.
As the academic terms begins again, Josie and Sarah are returning to college and university respectively so the showing will be settled down for the winter now. We have a few shows lined up, The Skye Club show in September, Birmingham and District Gundog and Terrier in November and LKA in December but both Freedom and Luna will be taking a rest while the girls get on with learning.
Sarah is also planning on beginning courses in canine psychology in December which will go through beginners, intermediate and advanced levels as well as gaining experience with a local dog training class with a view to APDT accreditation.
